About Us
ICOD Action Network is a registered Non Governmental Organization operating in Lyantonde district Uganda, East Africa. The organization envisions a Uganda society empowered, free from disease and suffering and where human rights are observed. Our overall objective is to respond to socio-economic challenges in society like HIV/AIDS, high unemployment rates, insufficient health care, poor sanitation and famine.
ICOD Action Network has continued to inspire individuals in Southwestern Uganda's poorest countries to find innovative and sustainable local solutions to end extreme poverty, hunger and diseases.
These individuals have demonstrated leadership, selflessness and passion to help their community break barriers to individual and community development and have worked with their communities to find lasting solutions independent from external support. We have continued to work with and train such leadership to move their communities forward.
We believe that sustainable solutions to end hunger, extreme poverty, disease e.t.c are those developed from within communities because lasting solutions lie within communities. That's why we work with communities to create permanent solutions that can sustainably transform them Our approach has continued to inspire individuals and communities and has bred new leaders who have found lasting solutions for their own communities and replicated our work in hard-to-reach communities; that is how we are "ACTION NETWORK".
ICOD targets marginalized households of vulnerable children, youth, orphans, women and HIV/AIDS affected and infected people and supports them by extending health services, constructing houses, constructing pit latrines, constructing safe water tanks, providing material support, providing food aid during famine, providing planting seeds, domestic utensils, clothing and providing HIV/AIDS training and counseling to groups at high- risk of HIV/AIDS infection. The organization has also
launched ICT and permaculture programs targeting rural farmer's groups.
